HISTORY:
The words “Fear Not” have been used throughout literature and history – though most notably from a biblical verse that starts “fear not, for I am with you”. There is also an applicable link to C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia”, where Aslan says:
“Laugh and fear not, creatures. Now that you are no longer dumb and witless, you need not always be grave. For jokes as well as justice come in with speech.”
This pendant is a perfect reminder to be courageous when it’s most difficult, and is a wonderful token for anyone going through adversity.
A famous reminder of this is the ‘cowardly lion’ from Wizard of Oz – all he needed was courage!
ABOUT THE PENDANT:
This pendant is made with a wax seal from a seal wheel of the Victorian era (mid 1800s), with a lion and the words “Fear Not”. The seal is hand stamped into fine silver (99% pure).
Each pendant is stamped, sanded, polished and oxidized for an antique look. Because they are hand-stamped individually and made to order, these pendants are truly unique, and no two pendants are the same (unlike pendants cast from a mold).
Instead of drilling a hole through the metal and thereby ruining the beautiful imprint of the seal, the pendent is set with a matching bail and jump ring. These extra details make this piece heirloom quality, and a timeless treasure that can be passed down through generations.
